EU Follows US and Israeli Policies, Designates IRGC as ‘Terrorist Organization’

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the European Union has added Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to its so-called ‘terrorist organizations’ list in a move described as hostile and aligned with anti-Iranian policies of the US and the Israeli regime. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas announced that the bloc’s foreign ministers agreed to list the IRGC under this designation.
Kallas framed the decision as a ‘decisive step’ in condemning what she called Iran’s suppression of protests and armed activities, while European countries have faced criticism for their silence and material support for Israel during its actions in Gaza. Kallas also warned that the region cannot afford another war, responding to US-led tensions against Iran.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi condemned the EU’s move, stating that Europe is ‘fanning the flames of crisis’ and committing a ‘major strategic mistake.’ The General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces also cautioned that European policymakers would bear the consequences of this decision.
