UNIFIL welcomes the ceasefire in Lebanon

report Mehr News Agency quoted Al Jazeera, the United Nations peacekeeping forces in southern Lebanon known as UNIFIL welcomed the establishment of a ceasefire between Beirut and Tel Aviv.

UNIFEL announced: We welcome the announcement of the cessation of hostilities and the emphasis on adherence to UN Resolution 1701 as a path towards peace.

This statement continues: Our soldiers are present in their positions and are ready to support Lebanon and “Israel” in the implementation of Resolution 1701.

UNIFEL stated: We will continue to carry out the assigned missions. We have begun to modify our operations to be compatible with the new situation.
