Russia Proposes Establishment ⁢of Specialized center for Food Diplomacy to Strengthen BRICS Trade and Food⁣ Security Cooperation

In a move to enhance trade cooperation and food security among BRICS members, Russia has proposed the creation of a specialized center for food diplomacy.

According to the English section of Webangah⁣ News ​Agency,citing Mehr‍ News Agency and TV BRICS,dmitry‌ Bulatov,head of Russia’s National Union of Food Exporters,stated in an interview ‌that the proposal to establish a “Food Diplomacy Center” was introduced within⁤ the framework of the BRICS National Research Committee. ‌The center aims to coordinate decisions related to expanding food exchanges among member states.Bulatov emphasized that this‌ center could play a⁤ significant role in ensuring global trade stability. ⁣

He further noted: “To achieve this goal, it is necessary for BRICS experts to draft a global charter on conduct in food markets, serving as a common framework for countries engaged in ⁣international food trade.”

He explained that this document⁢ should institutionalize principles ⁢such as guaranteeing stability ⁣in global agricultural trade,removing existing barriers,and expanding access to food ‍for populations in need.Bulatov also‍ highlighted Russia’s key role in global ‍food security, stating that the country⁣ ranks‍ first worldwide in wheat exports‍ and is⁣ one of the largest grain suppliers globally.

However, he ⁢pointed out that‌ Russia’s agricultural production and export potential remains underutilized and could play an even more prominent role‌ in addressing global food challenges.
