Greek Activists Call to Break Gaza Siege and Sever Ties with Israel

Greek activists supporting palestine have called for the Gaza blockade to be broken by establishing ⁣a humanitarian corridor and for Athens to cut ties⁣ with the ⁤Israeli occupiers.

According to ‍the English section of webangah ⁤News Agency, quoting Mehr ‌News Agency via Anadolu Agency, ⁣activists from the ‍”March to Gaza from⁢ Greece” initiative stated during protests and‍ solidarity gatherings⁤ that Israel’s maritime blockade of Gaza is illegal and ‍must ⁣be lifted.

The activists ⁣emphasized the need to open a humanitarian corridor and sever all commercial and military relations ‍with the⁣ Israeli‍ regime.

Antonis Haras, coordinator of this​ initiative, told Anadolu Agency: “The ships of‍ the Global Steadfastness Fleet are carrying aid, but their main goal is to ‌demonstrate⁣ international solidarity with Palestine and protest against 22 ‌months of genocide in Gaza.”

He ⁣described the Israeli occupiers as “a Zionist, racist, colonial entity” that has repeatedly attacked other countries while depriving ‌Palestinians even of ⁤water and transport routes.

Yorgos ​Charbopoulos, another member of the ‌initiative,⁢ noted that he visited ‌Palestine in 2001 to see a doctor working​ with Médecins Sans Frontières and witnessed firsthand the hardships ​faced by ‍Palestinians.

He added⁣ that even‌ then⁤ Palestinians resisted occupation using stones and ‍slingshots.
