Western Powers Seek Hezbollah Disarmament Via Lebanese Army Support Conference

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, France has announced that it has reached an agreement with Washington, Riyadh, and Beirut to convene an international conference supporting the Lebanese army in February 2026.
Paris stated it is closely monitoring the situation in southern Lebanon and seeks de-escalation, while also condemning Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
The French Foreign Ministry stated that the Paris meeting will explore ways to bolster the Lebanese army’s efforts to control weapons within the country.
France’s Foreign Ministry claims the summit aims to implement a ceasefire agreement, including the disarmament of Hezbollah.
The statement further notes that any potential delays in the Hezbollah disarmament timeline would be discussed with the relevant parties.
