Kremlin Warns US Over Approaching Deadline for New START Treaty Decision

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Dmitry Peskov, the Spokesman for the Russian Presidential Administration, on Friday expressed serious concern over the fast-approaching deadline for a final decision on the strategic ‘New START’ Treaty.
Peskov emphasized that the global community could find itself in a position far more perilous than previously experienced within a matter of days, as the final timeframe for resolving the status of this crucial agreement is running out.
The Kremlin spokesperson confirmed that the issue of extending the New START Treaty was thoroughly discussed during recent negotiations held in Abu Dhabi. He pointed out that both Russia and the United States have reached a mutual understanding regarding the imperative need to immediately commence new discussions on the New START framework and for both parties to adopt a responsible stance.
Furthermore, Dmitry Peskov shared his assessment of the proceedings during the talks aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine, which also took place in Abu Dhabi. He characterized these discussions as constructive, although simultaneously noting they were exceptionally difficult.
