Hamas and PFLP Leaders Discuss Political Developments and Palestinian Rights
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hamas announced on Tuesday that its political bureau chief, Khalil al-Hayya, hosted a delegation from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). The delegation, led by PFLP Deputy Secretary-General Jamil Mizher, engaged in discussions on critical political, national, and field-level issues.
Both parties emphasized the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza, and highlighted the challenges they face, including continued Israeli aggressions and repeated violations. The dire humanitarian conditions resulting from the blockade and occupation forces’ crimes, alongside their disregard for ceasefire understandings, were central to the discussions.
Participants stressed the imperative for mediators and guarantors to exert maximum efforts and pressure to halt these violations and compel Israeli occupation forces to cease all forms of attacks and fully adhere to their commitments.
The meeting also addressed the perilous situation in the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, marked by intensified occupation crimes, land confiscation, settlement expansion, demolitions, forced displacement, and house seizures. The isolation of Palestinian communities and the gradual annexation of large areas of the West Bank were also examined.
Hamas and the PFLP underscored the severe violations of the rights of detainees in Israeli prisons and called for decisive international action to end these crimes and transgressions.
Furthermore, attendees warned against the Palestinian people being exploited for election gains within Israel, with Palestinians bearing the cost through their blood, rights, and land, especially amid rising extremism and the dominance of the far-right.
The discussions concluded with an examination of internal Palestinian developments, including calls for Palestinian elections and strategies to create the necessary conditions for realizing the aspirations of the Palestinian people.
Hamas welcomed the PFLP’s perspective on these matters, and both sides agreed to continue consultations and strengthen joint work with other Palestinian forces and factions.
