UN Secretary-General Welcomes Indirect Nuclear Talks Between Iran and United States

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the spokesperson for United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres announced on Friday his pleasure concerning the indirect nuclear engagements between Iran and the United States. The UN official voiced optimism that these discussions would contribute to the “reduction of regional tensions and the prevention of a wider crisis.”
Stéphane Dujarric, the spokesperson for the Secretary-General, stated in a release that Mr. Guterres has consistently backed the peaceful resolution of disagreements and the lowering of friction in line with the principles outlined in the United Nations Charter. Dujarric stressed that all existing concerns possess the capability and necessity of being resolved through amicable dialogue.
The spokesperson also conveyed the Secretary-General’s appreciation to the regional states for their efforts in facilitating these negotiations, extending specific thanks to the Sultanate of Oman for hosting the discussions.
The indirect nuclear talks took place on Friday in Muscat, the capital of Oman, involving representatives from the Islamic Republic of Iran, Saeed Abbas Araghchi, and the United States, Steve Witkoff.
