US Military Ammunition Drains Significantly in Early Iran Conflict

The United States military depleted over $5.6 billion in ammunition within the first two days of conflict with Iran, prompting a reassessment of military hardware deployment in the region, according to reports citing American officials.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United States military expended ammunition valued at $5.6 billion during the initial two days of the conflict with Iran. This significant expenditure has led to a strategic review of military assets and their deployment in vital regions. Reports, citing American officials and published by the Washington Post and subsequently reported by Al Mayadeen, highlight the rapid depletion of munitions. In response to dwindling supplies and the strain on missile systems, the Pentagon is reportedly turning to Patriot missile systems in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Furthermore, plans are underway to relocate a portion of the THAAD missile defense system from South Korea to the region. This strategic shift comes as a consequence of the reduced arms stockpiles following the engagement with Iran and the wear and tear on existing missile defense platforms. Earlier reports had indicated that Iran’s inexpensive drones were effectively degrading expensive American missile systems deployed in the region.
