US Counterterrorism Chief Resigns, Warns Trump Against Iran Conflict Fueled by Israeli Lobby

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Joseph Kent, the head of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, has resigned from his post in protest against a potential American-Israeli military conflict and has penned a letter to President Donald Trump regarding the matter. Kent announced his resignation on the social media platform ‘X’.
The director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center addressed President Trump, stating that senior Israeli officials and influential figures within American media outlets have launched an organized campaign to mislead public opinion. Kent alleges that this campaign was used to create the false impression that Iran poses an immediate threat to the United States.
In his letter to Trump, Joseph Kent continued, ‘The talk of achieving a swift and decisive victory in the event of an ‘attack’ on Iran was an outright lie. This is the same tactic that the Israelis previously employed to draw us into the disastrous war in Iraq. We must never repeat that mistake again. I can never support sending the next generation of our country’s youth into a war that offers no benefit to our people.’
It is noteworthy that this senior official in the Trump administration had announced hours earlier: ‘Iran poses no direct threat to America, and it is clear that we have initiated this war under pressure from Israel. I have decided to resign because I cannot support the ongoing war against Iran.’
