The Royal Palace announced that King Harald V died peacefully at Oslo University Hospital at 6:35 AM on Friday, August 28, 2026 (September 6, 1405). His hospitalization was reportedly due to hemolytic anemia, which was later complicated by a bacterial blood infection.
Following the announcement of the King’s deteriorating health on Thursday evening, members of the royal family gathered by his bedside.
