Iraqi Hezbollah Denies Targeting Diplomatic Sites Since 2003

Kata’ib Hezbollah in Iraq has asserted that its forces have not targeted any diplomatic centers or headquarters since 2003, clarifying that recent operations were in response to U.S. actions.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Kata’ib Hezbollah in Iraq has emphasized that its forces have not targeted any diplomatic centers or headquarters since 2003. The group specified that its operations have not aimed at embassies, and the targeting of the Al-Tawhid camp was in retaliation for the bombing of residential areas by the United States.

This statement comes amidst repeated accusations against resistance groups in Iraq for targeting diplomatic centers and security headquarters, particularly following incidents near the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. These allegations have been consistently denied by the groups.

In a related development, Iraqi Hezbollah stated that an operation targeting the intelligence service was carried out by one of the service’s officers with the aim of “damaging the image of the resistance.” A recent attack on an Iraqi intelligence center in the capital, Baghdad, resulted in the martyrdom of one officer.
