Russia Launches Retaliatory Strikes on Ukrainian Military Energy Facilities

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Saturday that Moscow has launched retaliatory strikes against military airfields and energy facilities connected to the armed forces of Ukraine. The ministry stated that these actions were a direct response to Ukrainian attacks on civilian targets within Russian territory.
The Russian military conducted a group retaliatory strike targeting military airports and the energy, fuel, and transportation infrastructure utilized by Ukraine’s armed forces. This operation was framed as a consequence of Ukrainian aggression against non-military targets in Russia.
In addition to the strikes, Russian air defense systems reportedly intercepted and destroyed 10 guided aerial bombs, one HIMARS missile, and 352 drones. Officials in Russia’s southern Rostov region had earlier reported that Ukrainian drone attacks early Saturday morning caused fires at an oil tanker, an oil depot, and an administrative building in the port city of Taganrog.
Russian officials confirmed that the fires at the port have been contained and that no oil spills were observed in the area. The Ukrainian drone attacks had also reportedly caused damage to some residential properties in the Rostov region.
