US Central Command Claims Disruption of 116 Commercial Vessels in Maritime Operation

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has asserted its involvement in altering the routes of 116 commercial vessels as part of an operation targeting maritime activities related to Iran. This claim was made through a statement on a social media platform.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) for the Middle East has claimed to have altered the course of 116 commercial ships as part of a plan it refers to as the “maritime blockade of Iran.” The announcement was made via a message on a social media network, citing data published by the Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera.

CENTCOM further stated that to ensure the complete enforcement of the maritime blockade against Iran, it has so far disabled five commercial vessels and changed the routes of 116 others. The command also alleged that yesterday, a vessel flying the flag of Gambia, which was heading towards an Iranian port and reportedly attempting to break the blockade, was disabled.

The U.S. Central Command concluded its claims by stating that after the vessel failed to comply with directives, it was targeted with a missile fired into its engine room, resulting in its immobilization.
