Seoul Vows Deeper Cooperation with Washington Against Pyongyang

South Korea’s Defense Minister, An Gyu-back, reaffirmed Seoul’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with Washington to contain North Korea’s threats, emphasizing the nation’s dedication to strengthening its alliance with the U.S. and its own defense capabilities.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, South Korean Defense Minister An Gyu-back stated that Seoul will continue to deepen and expand its cooperation with Washington in the realm of containing Pyongyang.
He emphasized that South Korea will strive to simultaneously bolster its alliance with the United States and its national defense capabilities.
Inter-Korean relations have been tense in recent years due to the involvement of extra-regional powers in the Korean Peninsula region.
Amidst the threats posed by the United States and South Korea, North Korea has sought to shift the balance in its favor by moving closer to Eastern powers, including China and Russia.
