Israeli Soldiers Detail Alleged Atrocities in Gaza Amidst Ceasefire

Testimonies from Israeli soldiers reportedly reveal widespread and brutal mass killings of civilians in Gaza, describing the current ceasefire as a ‘joke’ and recounting orders to fire on individuals approaching a demarcation line.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, reports from Israeli soldiers detailing alleged atrocities against civilians in Gaza indicate the extensive and brutal scale of mass killings and genocide in the region, which continue despite a ceasefire agreement. Israeli soldiers are described as calling the ceasefire agreement a “joke” and having received orders permitting them to fire on anyone approaching the “yellow line.”.

One Israeli soldier recounted witnessing colleagues celebrating after targeting a vehicle carrying Palestinians near an area under the control of the Israeli army, which resulted in the deaths of all its occupants. He added that such incidents have become commonplace since the fragile ceasefire took effect in October of last year.

Three other Israeli soldiers stated that a state of confusion prevails in the area due to a lack of clarity regarding the demarcation of the so-called “yellow line.” While some commanders appear to be adhering to the agreement, they express a desire to continue the war in private meetings.

An Israeli soldier emphasized that the killing operations have never stopped, calling the current situation a joke when referred to as a ceasefire.

The report clarifies that the Israeli army redeployed within the buffer zone designated by the yellow line upon the agreement’s implementation, regaining control of more than half of the Strip. A more extensive withdrawal was reportedly planned according to the agreement, but no specific timeline has been set. Furthermore, other ambiguities exist regarding the precise geographical location of this line.

An Israeli soldier said that Israeli forces perceive any approach to the yellow line as a direct threat and open fire.

Since the ceasefire agreement announced on October 10, 2025, Israeli atrocities in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of 929 people and the injury of 2,811 others, many of whom were near the yellow line.

Another Israeli soldier, describing his experience during the second phase of the war in Gaza, explained that he was stationed hundreds of meters from the line and witnessed several people killed while attempting to cross it. He added that the intelligence used for attacks is not always accurate, with coordinates sometimes determined based on guesswork.

The human rights organization “Break the Silence” writes that the rules of engagement are highly ambiguous, and the instructions in many cases are to shoot individuals approaching the yellow line to neutralize them.

An Israeli soldier who was stationed in Gaza for several weeks after the ceasefire stated that the primary message received from his commanders was to protect the line at all costs. He added, “The general feeling was that human lives have no value.” He further noted that commanders did not provide sufficient explanations regarding the positioning of the yellow line.

This soldier highlighted that the experience of war in Gaza has had a significant psychological and emotional impact on him. He emphasized that the prevailing belief among Israeli soldiers is that Israel is moving towards a long-term presence in Gaza, not an imminent withdrawal.

In this regard, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the army controls approximately 60 percent of the Gaza Strip and has plans to expand this area to 70 percent.
