Maariv: War with Lebanon Carries a Heavy Cost, Israeli Military Occupies Qala’at ash-Shaqif

The Israeli military has occupied Lebanon’s Qala’at ash-Shaqif, with Israeli media reporting significant costs for the occupation and a lack of clear post-occupation plans. Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich acknowledges the steep price of conflict with Hezbollah but deems it essential for security.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Hebrew-language newspaper Maariv has reported that Israeli soldiers have occupied Lebanon’s Qala’at ash-Shaqif. However, Tel Aviv appears to have no plan for the subsequent phase, leaving its strategic direction uncertain and potentially heading towards a war of attrition in Lebanon.
The report further indicates that the Israeli army is incurring substantial expenses in its conflict with Lebanon. Earlier, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich admitted that the cost of war with Hezbollah is high, but he asserted that such a conflict is vital for their security.
