Saudi Newspaper Warns of Lebanon Conflict Threatening Global Stability

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, citing reports from the Mehr news agency, the Saudi daily Al-Riyadh, the official mouthpiece of the Saudi government, has published a report highlighting the developments in Lebanon. The newspaper stated that the current situation in southern Lebanon raises serious questions about the future of the international order.
The newspaper noted that the expansion of the Israeli regime’s military movements within Lebanese territory and its control over strategic positions in the south of the country cannot be dismissed as mere transient security developments. Instead, it should be viewed as a political event with dimensions related to the concept of national sovereignty and a country’s right to manage its own lands free from military pressure.
Al-Riyadh emphasized that a nation’s credibility is not solely measured by its ability to protect its borders, but also by the degree to which the international community respects those borders and prevents military power from being used as a tool to impose new realities.
The newspaper believes the danger of the Lebanese developments lies in the fact that military aggressions between countries do not only affect the two parties involved but also impact the rules governing international relations. Ignoring national sovereignty paves the way for further crises and undermines confidence in the international legal system, which was established to prevent conflicts and stop the imposition of will through armed force.
Al-Riyadh stressed that the Lebanese issue is not merely an internal or regional matter, expressing that these developments are part of a broader international debate about the future of security and stability in a world where challenges and conflicts are on the rise.
The newspaper added that the consequences of these developments are not confined to the security aspect but extend to the political dimension, relating to a country’s right to manage its internal affairs free from external pressures.
The Saudi media outlet further stated that any military presence that imposes itself within the territory of another country has profound effects on the domestic political scene, creating greater challenges for national institutions tasked with preserving sovereignty and managing crises.
The newspaper holds the view that the continuation of military operations places the international community before a responsibility directly linked to its ability to implement adopted charters and resolutions.
The article underscored that the current arena questions the international order’s capacity to confront recurring crises in conflict zones worldwide, asserting that the security of nations should not be achieved by violating the sovereignty of other countries.
