Russia Expresses Concern Over Escalating Tensions in Lebanon, Cites Diminishing US Influence

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Monday expressing deep concern regarding the ongoing Israeli aggressions into Lebanese territory and the resulting civilian casualties. Russia indicated apprehension that Lebanon might be pushed toward a humanitarian disaster due to the escalating tensions.

The statement from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs further suggested that the United States’ influence on the international stage is diminishing, implying that Israel cannot perpetually rely on its support. This development comes as Nabih Berri, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, previously underscored the necessity of domestic solidarity and urged the international community to fulfill its responsibility in halting Israeli attacks.

Berri characterized the events unfolding in southern Lebanon as a direct and overt challenge to the country’s sovereignty. He appealed to the international community for immediate action to cease repeated Israeli incursions. The Lebanese Speaker emphasized that the continuous Israeli attacks and repeated violations of Lebanese airspace compel the global community to accept its responsibilities and undertake serious measures to halt these aggressions.

Berri also stated that the current circumstances necessitate that all factions prioritize paramount national interests above all else, fostering an environment of dialogue and mutual understanding.
