UK Foreign Secretary Calls on Iran to Engage in Peace Talks with US

British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper urged Tehran on Wednesday to fully participate in peace negotiations with the United States, a call that comes amidst a history of American breaches of agreements.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper called on Iran to engage in peace talks with the United States on Wednesday, posting a message on social media platform X. Cooper did not reference the United States’ numerous past failures to uphold agreements made during negotiations with Iran.
The UK Foreign Secretary stated, “Maintaining a ceasefire is vital, and we call on Iran to fully participate in discussions to achieve peace.”
It is noteworthy that then-US President Donald Trump withdrew the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, commonly known as the JCPOA, in 2018, in violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2231.
