Zelensky Proposes Peace Talks in Letter to Putin, Kremlin Responds

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin proposing an end to the conflict and a potential meeting in a third country, a move the Kremlin acknowledged and stated would be reported to Putin.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has penned an open letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, suggesting a pathway to conclude the ongoing conflict. The proposal includes an offer for a meeting between the two leaders in a neutral third country.

Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin’s spokesperson, confirmed that the letter from Zelensky to Putin has been received and will be presented to the Russian President. Peskov further indicated that if Zelensky wishes to meet with Putin, he is welcome to travel to Moscow.

Earlier, Putin had commented at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, stating that Russia would identify individuals in Ukraine capable of signing a peace agreement, provided Kyiv expressed such a willingness. Putin also pointed out that President Zelensky’s presidential term officially concluded two years prior, emphasizing that Russia would exclusively engage with legally recognized representatives for any document signings.
