Cuba Vows Resistance to New U.S. Sanctions

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez have declared that new U.S. sanctions and aggressive actions will be met with steadfast resistance, predicting their ultimate failure.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez have stated that new U.S. sanctions and aggressive rhetoric directed at Havana will ultimately fail. They asserted that the United States’ aggression and hostility will be met with Cuban resistance.

Díaz-Canel wrote on a social media platform early Friday that the U.S. President had made new threatening statements against Cuba, and the Treasury Department had added new names of Cuban leaders, organizations, and companies to an illegal sanctions list.

He added that these actions are aimed at strengthening the blockade and intensifying the conflict between Cuba and the United States. He further elaborated that this political blindness is added to recent coercive measures against Cuba designed to harm its people.

In continuation of its hostile policies against Cuba, the U.S. Treasury Department has placed Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and four other individuals from the country on its sanctions list.

Alejandro Castro Espín, son of former Cuban President Raúl Castro, is also included on this list.
