Walid Jumblatt Warns Against Repeating Oslo Accords Experience in Lebanon Negotiations

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Walid Jumblatt, the former head of Lebanon‘s Progressive Socialist Party, emphasized the need to define the final framework for negotiations with the Zionist enemy from the outset. He stressed the importance of avoiding joint statements that reflect contradictions between Lebanese and American positions, based on data published by the Mehr News Agency.
Jumblatt issued a warning regarding the risks associated with entering endless negotiations with the Zionist enemy without clearly defined objectives. He expressed concern that such talks might devolve into a process of negotiating for the sake of negotiation.
He recalled the experience of the Oslo Accords, which led to a prolonged conflict without achieving the intended goals. Jumblatt added that continuing this approach could relegate parts of southern Lebanon, its heritage, history, and people to the past, similar to the situation that unfolded concerning Palestine.
