Kremlin Urges Iran and US Back to Negotiation Table Amid Rising Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian Presidential Executive Office (Kremlin), stated on Thursday that the new wave of tensions surrounding Iran is concerning. He urged both sides to exercise restraint and return to the negotiation process.

Peskov emphasized that the current tensions are likely to lead to new consequences for the regional situation and the international economy. This call for dialogue comes amid recent unauthorized actions by Washington against Tehran.

The Kremlin spokesperson also commented on the European Union’s sanctions against Russian banks, noting that these are not new and major Russian banks have been under sanctions for a considerable period. He asserted that the situation in Russia’s banking sector remains stable and fully under control.

The Kremlin’s proposal for negotiation and agreement follows two previous unauthorized incursions by the United States into Iranian territory, which occurred during indirect talks between Tehran and Washington. These incidents, reportedly conducted in violation of international law, have led to an assertion that the United States is not genuinely pursuing negotiations.
