China Urges Restraint from Iran and US Amid Escalating Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Lin Jian, issued a statement on Thursday addressing the recent escalations between the United States and Iran. “The security of regional countries must be respected and preserved,” the statement asserted.
In response to the latest actions by the U.S. and Iran, Lin Jian urged “all parties to exercise restraint.” He further emphasized China’s call for “a cessation of military operations and a resumption of dialogue,” as reported by Russia Today.
The recent tensions coincide with reports of aerial attacks targeting areas within Iran. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), responsible for American military operations in West Asia, announced that strikes against Iran had commenced shortly after receiving orders from U.S. President Donald Trump.
Overnight, U.S. forces reportedly conducted airstrikes on southern Iranian regions, citing the downing of an Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz as justification. Iranian armed forces responded with swift and decisive retaliatory strikes, targeting American bases and interests in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
