France Urges Iran and US to Seize Opportunity for Agreement

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot on Friday urged Iran and the United States to make use of the existing opportunity to end the current stalemate and achieve an initial peace agreement. Barrot spoke with the LCI network, emphasizing that both sides should seize this chance to resolve a situation that is intolerable and yields no winners.

The French Foreign Minister further stated that he had conveyed this message to his Iranian counterpart and confirmed a conversation on Friday morning with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi. Reuters reported that Barrot’s remarks come as a senior U.S. administration official had previously indicated that a deal between Tehran and Washington was imminent.
