Security Incident Reported Off Yemen Coast; Vessel Under Fire

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported a security incident approximately 14 nautical miles south of the Yemeni coast, where a small boat’s crew reportedly opened fire on a container ship.
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced on Monday that a security incident occurred 14 nautical miles south of the Yemeni coast. The UKMTO’s website stated that a report was received regarding the incident, during which the crew of a small boat approached a container ship and fired upon it in an attempt to board.
Al Arabiya, citing the UKMTO, claimed that an oil tanker reported an encounter with a boat carrying four armed individuals who opened fire. The oil tanker was reportedly struck by an RPG round southeast of Aden.
