Israel Approves Public Funds for Extremist Anti-Palestinian Group

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, data published by the Mehr News Agency, quoting the Anadolu Agency, revealed that the cabinet of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intends to allocate 5.5 million shekels, equivalent to about $1.89 million, from public funds to finance the extremist settler group ‘Hilltop Youth’.
The allocated budget, based on a document from the Israeli Ministry of Settlement and Missions, headed by Erit Stroch, designates this ministry as responsible for transferring financial resources to the regional councils of the settlements in the West Bank.
Yedioth Ahronoth reported that this plan commenced in June and will continue until the end of the current year. Each member of the ‘Hilltop Youth’ is expected to receive around $550 per month to cover the expenses of food, clothing, and other necessities for over 657 teenagers and young adults residing in settlements and pastoral settlement hubs in the West Bank.
‘Hilltop Youth’ is characterized as a group of extremist settlers, many of whom live in informal settlement hubs in the West Bank and oppose the evacuation of these areas. Members of this group are known for carrying out violent attacks against Palestinians.
Founded in 1998, the group primarily comprises youths aged 16 to 26. These individuals have left their homes and schools to reside in settlement hubs situated on hills overlooking Palestinian villages.
