Israel Launches Heavy Airstrikes on Southern Lebanon, Escalating Tensions

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israeli military forces, comprising several vehicles, a D9 bulldozer, and two Merkava tanks, advanced towards the town of Haddatha in the Bint Jbeil Governorate of southern Lebanon. They reportedly withdrew to their positions at the town’s stadium moments later. Concurrently, Israeli drones conducted attacks on the towns of Mansouri and Azieh in the Tyre Governorate, injuring several Lebanese individuals. Al Jazeera’s correspondent also reported the firing of two missiles towards Israeli forces in the vicinity of Kfar Tibnet in the Nabatieh district of southern Lebanon. Meanwhile, air raid sirens sounded on Wednesday afternoon in the Israeli settlement of Zarit in the western Galilee region, following the suspected infiltration of a drone from Lebanese territory. Israeli Channel 12 television later claimed the drone infiltration alert was a false alarm caused by an error in surveillance systems, and no interceptor missiles were fired. The Israeli army confirmed this, stating the sirens in Zarit were activated due to a mistaken detection.
