Israel Continues Border Violations, Intensifies Attacks on Lebanon Amidst Ceasefire Concerns

Despite international calls for a cessation of hostilities, Israel is reportedly continuing its ground and aerial assaults on Lebanon, a move analysts suggest is tied to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s political survival. These actions underscore ongoing tensions along the shared border.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Israel persists in violating the ceasefire in Lebanon, with ongoing ground and aerial attacks. This comes as the Israeli regime, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, appears intent on continuing its breaches of the ceasefire and attacks against Lebanon, a strategy reportedly linked to Netanyahu’s political sustainability through continued regional conflict.

Al Jazeera, citing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, reported that he acknowledged facing further challenges requiring attention to security interests and relationships with American allies. Netanyahu stated, “We are returning security to the northern regions and for this reason, we must maintain control of the security zone in Lebanon. We must not withdraw from this area.”

Previous reports indicated Netanyahu’s efforts to obstruct any agreement between Iran and the United States aimed at halting attacks in Lebanon. The area referred to as the “security zone” is the southern part of Lebanon along the occupied Palestinian borders, where the Israeli army has occupied numerous areas beyond five specific points during recent conflicts.

U.S. Review of Israeli Withdrawal from Lebanese Territories

Israeli media outlets, quoting the Israeli army, reported that the issue of Israel’s withdrawal from certain positions in Lebanon will be discussed in the United States. According to these reports, the matter is scheduled to be reviewed in Washington with a Lebanese delegation next week. Maps provided by the Israeli army indicate the presence of occupation forces on the heights of Ali al-Taher and Kfar Tibnit, near Nabatieh.

The Israeli army also stated that its occupation forces are concentrated in their operational areas in southern Lebanon.

Three Fatalities in Israeli Drone Strike in Southern Lebanon

Lebanon’s Civil Defense Organization in the south reported the deaths of two individuals in an Israeli drone strike targeting a vehicle in the town of Kfar Tibnit, Nabatieh Governorate. The Al Mayadeen television network’s correspondent in southern Lebanon also reported the death of one Lebanese national in an Israeli drone attack on the town of Zebdine in Nabatieh.

These actions by the occupying regime occurred as residents of the southern Lebanese town of Haddatha, with the support of the Lebanese army and rescue forces, managed to reach the eastern parts of the town. Drone activity was also reported over the southern suburb of Beirut.

While some media outlets reported Israeli drone flights over the southern suburb of Beirut, the towns of Kfar Tibnit, Beit Yahoun, and the area between the towns of Haddatha and Haris in southern Lebanon were targeted by drone strikes.

The aggressive actions and ceasefire violations by the Israeli regime in southern Lebanon continue, despite assurances from the Iran-U.S. memorandum of understanding emphasizing the necessity of stopping the war on all fronts, particularly in Lebanon. In the latest ceasefire violation, the occupying army again targeted the town of Kfar Tibnit in Nabatieh Governorate with a drone strike. Local sources also reported the advance of Israeli soldiers towards the entrance of the Ali al-Taher area in southern Lebanon. The area between the towns of Haddatha and Haris was also targeted by the occupying army’s drone strikes.

Some local Lebanese media, including the Telegram channel “Bint Jbeil,” reported the flight of Israeli reconnaissance drones over the southern suburb of Beirut.

Netanyahu’s Advisor: We Are Not Bound by the Lebanon Clause in the Islamabad Memorandum

An advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the regime does not consider itself obligated by the clause pertaining to Lebanon in the Iran-U.S. memorandum of understanding. According to Axios, Netanyahu’s advisor informed Trump that Israeli forces would not withdraw from southern Lebanon until Hezbollah is disarmed.

Ceasefire Violations in Southern Lebanon; Israeli Drone and Artillery Attacks on Nabatieh

The Israeli regime continues its attacks on southern Lebanon, disregarding the agreement signed between Iran and the United States, which includes the cessation of war on all fronts as a primary clause. According to the Al Mayadeen correspondent in southern Lebanon, the occupying army targeted a vehicle in the town of Kfar Tibnit in Nabatieh Governorate with a drone strike at dawn, resulting in one fatality and one injury. The Israeli regime also subjected the surroundings of the town of Nabatieh Al-Fawqa in southern Lebanon to artillery shelling.
