Former Israeli Security Official Questions Iran War’s Efficacy, Cites Strategic Gains for Tehran

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Tami Hassin, former head of the Intelligence Directorate of the Israeli military and current head of the Institute for National Security Studies, has voiced significant doubts about the ongoing conflict with Iran. Hassin stated that the agreement concluded between Iran and the United States is not achieving the war’s objectives, and suggested it would have been preferable for the conflict to have never begun.
He further elaborated that the agreement appears to grant Iran nearly everything it desires. Hassin highlighted that one of Iran’s most significant achievements from this accord is securing the survival of its regime and establishing a robust economic lifeline. Additionally, Tehran is set to gain extensive authority to exert influence in the region and manage the Strait of Hormuz in cooperation with Oman. Crucially, Iran will, in effect, become responsible for overseeing the ceasefire in Lebanon. This development, he noted, represents the very equation of battlefield synergy that Israel had sought to prevent.
