Iran’s Top Diplomat Weighs Potential Switzerland Trip Amid Lebanon Ceasefire Push

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, is reportedly planning a visit to Switzerland, contingent on the full implementation of a ceasefire in Lebanon. The trip’s agenda is closely tied to Tehran’s emphasis on de-escalation efforts in the region.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Axios news outlet, citing an informed source, reported that Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, is preparing for a potential trip to Switzerland. However, the report notes that this visit remains subject to change.

Araghchi has reportedly conveyed to some of his counterparts that the implementation of a ceasefire in Lebanon holds paramount importance for Tehran. Iran is emphasizing that a genuine and practical execution of the ceasefire in Lebanon must be achieved before the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister embarks on his journey to Switzerland.

The planned visit of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s negotiation delegation to Geneva, Switzerland, for the initial round of talks with the United States, has been postponed. This decision comes in the wake of continued aggressions by the Zionist regime against southern Lebanon.
