Qatar, US Officials Discuss Lebanon Stability and Ceasefire with President Aoun

Lebanese President Michel Aoun held discussions with Qatari and American officials, including the Prime Minister of Qatar and senior US advisors, focusing on bolstering the ceasefire in Lebanon and regional stability.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, US Vice President JD Vance, US Senior Advisor Jared Kushner, and US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Wittecraft held a joint call with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. The discussions revolved around political and diplomatic efforts aimed at reinforcing adherence to the ceasefire in Lebanon, in light of a memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and the United States. Qatari and American officials explored avenues for leveraging the memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and the United States to support regional security and stability. The Qatari Foreign Minister emphasized Doha’s support for regional and international endeavors to achieve just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the region. He reiterated Qatar’s unwavering position regarding Lebanon and its territorial integrity. The Lebanese President, in turn, lauded Qatar’s efforts, its mediation, and its diplomatic initiatives to bolster security, stability, and dialogue in the region.
