UNIFIL Reports No Airstrikes or Shelling in Southern Lebanon Since Sunday

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has announced that no aerial attacks or shelling have been observed in southern Lebanon since Sunday, marking a significant lull in hostilities for the first time since early March.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has reported no instances of shelling or aerial attacks in southern Lebanon from Sunday until Tuesday morning. This marks the first period exceeding two days without such activities since the resumption of clashes on March 2nd.

UNIFIL stated that its peacekeepers have not observed any projectile trajectories, interception operations, or aerial assaults during this timeframe. While acknowledging the reduction in violence as a positive development, UNIFIL also noted the continued monitoring and recording of airspace violations, military activities, and restrictions on freedom of movement.

The peacekeeping force affirmed its ongoing presence on the ground, observing developments and maintaining communication with various parties. UNIFIL also highlighted its role in facilitating humanitarian aid delivery and supporting efforts aimed at achieving lasting stability based on UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
