Chilean Petition Gathers 80,000 Signatures Calling for Israel’s UN Expulsion

A legal initiative in Chile has garnered approximately 80,000 signatures, urging the United Nations to expel Israel due to alleged repeated violations of the organization’s principles.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, a legal effort is underway in Chile to pressure the United Nations into taking action against Israel. This initiative, reported by Mehr News Agency citing Middle East Monitor, involves a group of pro-Palestine lawyers advocating for the expulsion of the Israeli regime from the international body.

Nelson Haddad, a lawyer and former diplomat involved in the initiative, announced that the group intends to send a letter to UN Secretary-General António Guterres. The letter will call for proceedings to expel the Israeli regime from the United Nations.

Chilean media reports indicate that this initiative has gathered nearly 80,000 signatures and is supported by civil society organizations. The petition argues that the United Nations should enforce the provisions of its Charter concerning member states accused of repeatedly violating the organization’s principles.
