Trump Criticizes Senate for Undermining War Powers, Claims Iran Near Collapse

President Donald Trump lambasted the U.S. Senate for its vote to limit his war powers, asserting it aided adversaries and complicated his objectives, while also claiming Iran was on the verge of collapse.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. President Donald Trump reacted strongly to the Senate’s vote to restrict his war-making authorities, stating that the Senate’s actions had aided the enemy and made his job more difficult. He added, however, that he would proceed with his plans regardless.

The U.S. President, facing significant domestic pressure over the fruitless expenditure of tens of billions of dollars in an illegal invasion of Iranian territory, claimed in an effort to calm the country’s tense atmosphere that Iran was on the brink of collapse and ready to yield to U.S. demands.

Donald Trump expressed his anger towards the Senate, describing the vote on the war powers resolution as meaningless and ill-timed.

Hours earlier, the U.S. Senate passed a measure stipulating that President Donald Trump does not have the right to conduct any military operations against Iran unless he receives authorization from Congress beforehand.

The war powers resolution was approved by the U.S. Senate with 50 votes in favor and 48 against.

This bill was drafted within the framework of the “War Powers Act” and emphasizes Congress’s role in deciding on U.S. entry into military conflicts.

Previously, the U.S. House of Representatives had taken an unprecedented step by voting in favor of a Democratic resolution to limit Trump’s war powers against Iran.
