US Navy Declares Heightened Threat Level in Strait of Hormuz

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, CNN reported on Saturday that the US Navy’s Joint Intelligence Center has declared a “significantly elevated” threat level in the Strait of Hormuz. The American network alleged that the US Navy announced the expansion of a shipping lane near the Sultanate of Oman within the strait, which is intended to facilitate increased bilateral vessel traffic.
Citing an unnamed US official, CNN claimed that current incidents do not indicate a return to large-scale combat operations. This assertion arises at a time when the United States has been accused of violating a memorandum of understanding and conducting aerial attacks on Iranian territory.
Mehr News Agency reported, citing informed sources, that a projectile struck a telecommunications mast in the vicinity of Sirik County. The same source confirmed that warning shots had been fired at vessels operating outside of established Iranian protocols and disrupting maritime navigation several hours prior to this incident.
