Egypt and Qatar Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Developments and US-Iran Understanding

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman, and Egypt‘s Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty, engaged in a phone call to review the strong bilateral ties between their nations and explore avenues for their support and enhancement. The discussion also encompassed pressing regional developments, with a specific focus on ongoing diplomatic initiatives aimed at bolstering security and stability within the region following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.
During the call, the Qatari Foreign Minister underscored the critical importance of safeguarding the region from the repercussions of “unjustifiable” attacks, ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, maintaining the momentum of dialogue and diplomacy, de-escalating tensions, and leveraging the achievements secured under the memorandum of understanding to fortify security and stability at both regional and international levels.
Furthermore, he reiterated Qatar’s full backing for the ongoing negotiations between American and Iranian parties.
