Egypt’s National Football Coach Sparks Outrage in Israeli Circles by Displaying Palestinian Flag

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, data published by the Mehr News Agency, quoting Al-Ghad, indicates that the action by Hossam Hassan, the coach of the Egyptian national football team, to raise the Palestinian flag after his team’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup Round of 16 has provoked a wave of anger and fierce reactions in the media and social networks of the Zionist regime.
Israeli media outlets, including Channel 1, described the Egyptian coach holding the Palestinian flag amid the World Cup matches as an open challenge.
Simultaneously, the widely circulated newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that the Egyptian coach’s images and statements were widely shared across the Arab world immediately after the final whistle.
This decisive stance by the Egyptian coach on the Palestinian issue garnered a flood of angry comments from Israeli users online. Some users claimed the Egyptian coach’s action was a “clear violation of FIFA rules” and demanded the expulsion of the Egyptian national team from the World Cup competitions.
In this context, some Israeli media outlets accused the Egyptian coach of antisemitism, writing, “Antisemitism still flows in their blood, and Egypt must be immediately expelled from the World Cup.”
