Yemen Praises Iran’s ‘Brave’ Action in Breaking Airport Siege

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Yemenis held a rally around Sana’a International Airport, declaring their support for the country’s army and expressing gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its role in breaking the airport’s siege. The demonstrators urged the enforcement of a new equation that would keep the airport open.

In a statement issued during the gathering, participants emphasized, “We call on the Yemeni armed forces to act to implement this equation following the breaking of the siege, thanks to Iran’s brave initiative. We want flights to continue at this airport.”

Two days prior, Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces, announced that Saudi enemy warplanes violated Yemeni airspace at 5:20 AM, attempting to prevent the landing of an Iranian civilian aircraft at Sana’a International Airport. The Iranian civilian plane was carrying over 200 stranded, wounded, and sick citizens.

Saree added, “By the grace of God, the Saudi enemy’s attempt to prevent the landing of the Iranian civilian aircraft was thwarted through the interception and countermeasures by the Yemeni armed forces. By God’s will, we targeted the Saudi enemy aircraft with several air defense missiles, forcing them to leave Yemeni airspace.”

Yahya Saree underscored, “We appreciate the stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in taking the initiative to break the siege and transfer patients, as well as the official and popular delegation participating in the funeral ceremony of the martyr Sayyid Ali Khamenei. We emphasize the continuation of flights between Sana’a and Tehran, with God’s help.”
