Iraq to Host Martyr Leader’s Funeral, Symbolizing Regional Solidarity

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hussein Al-Mousawi, the media spokesperson for the Najaba Movement, has called upon the Iraqi people to participate enthusiastically in the farewell ceremony for the “martyred leader of the Ummah.” He urged citizens to “fill the squares and create a story that will be narrated for generations,” emphasizing that the “children of Iraq, heirs of the love for Imam Khamenei, are strangers to submission and compromise, and their souls accept nothing but eternity.” Al-Mousawi described the funeral procession of the “late martyr” as an event transcending time and space, carrying religious, social, and political dimensions and messages.

Al-Mousawi further elaborated that, from a religious and symbolic perspective, the extensive public presence signifies the leader’s “great spiritual standing” and expresses affection for a rare religious-political figure. He noted that the choice of Najaf Al-Ashraf and Karbala for the funeral ceremonies highlights Iraq’s religious significance and confirms and strengthens the “ideological connection between Iraq and Iran.” Socially, the broad participation of various segments of Iraqi society is seen as an “unparalleled and lasting model of the cultural bond between the two nations.”

From a political and regional standpoint, Al-Mousawi stated that this event “proves that the axis of resistance continues its strong connection with the Islamic Republic of Iran, even after the martyrdom of a prominent leader like Imam Khamenei, who was the pillar of this front.”
