Hezbollah Declares Framework Agreement Null and Void, a Free Gift to Netanyahu

Hezbollah’s parliamentary bloc representative, Hassan Fadlallah, has declared the framework agreement with Israel to be non-existent and legally invalid, asserting it serves only the enemy’s objectives and solidifies occupation.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Hassan Fadlallah, a representative of Hezbollah‘s parliamentary bloc, stated that the framework agreement concluded with the Zionist regime has no actual existence and is devoid of any treaty, constitutional, or legal value, making its practical implementation impossible. He believes the Lebanese government has signed an agreement that offers no benefit to Lebanon and instead directly serves the enemy’s goals, which it failed to achieve on the battlefield.

Fadlallah indicated that the agreement solidifies occupation, establishes a buffer zone, prevents international complaints against the enemy, and attempts to eliminate the resistance by leveraging continued occupation as a pressure tool. The senior Hezbollah member added that there is a national opposition transcending sects that rejects this agreement, causing the government to lose its balance and scramble for justifications.

Fadlallah posits that the agreement’s supporters are merely a political minority, remnants of the “17 May current.” He revealed that the true objective of this accord is to surrender Lebanon as a “free gift” and a bargaining chip for Netanyahu in negotiations between Iran and the United States. He noted that Iran’s previous insistence on linking Israeli withdrawal to the memorandum of understanding was a source of strength, but the government has lost this leverage.

In conclusion, he emphasized that the resistance and the people of the South will not allow the enemy to implement this unilateral agreement, and the government, regardless of its justifications, will not succeed in imposing it on the people. These remarks come in response to statements by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, who had asserted he was not infatuated with the Zionist regime and had accepted the framework agreement as the only solution to stop the war and prevent bloodshed. He had challenged his critics to present a practical alternative in this regard.

The framework agreement, comprising 14 articles, obligates the Lebanese government to empower the army to establish full control and disarm non-state armed groups (Hezbollah). The agreement also deems Israeli operations in Lebanon as a direct consequence of attacks by these groups.
