Russia Launches Widespread Missile Strikes on Kyiv, Causing Casualties
According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, news sources reported that the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, was targeted by extensive and precise Russian missile and drone strikes on Monday morning. These attacks resulted in several fatalities, with the possibility of residents being trapped under rubble and besieged due to building collapses.
Reports indicate that several powerful explosions were heard in Kyiv following this operation, which also caused casualties.
Vitali Klitschko, the Mayor of Kyiv, confirmed that missiles hit residential buildings in the historic Podil district, describing the situation in the capital as critical.
Military officials in Kyiv acknowledged that the strikes were carried out using ballistic missiles, a development highlighting the complete inability of Ukrainian air defense systems to counter Russian missile technology.
Conversely, Ukraine also targeted energy infrastructure in the Sevastopol region of Crimea with drone attacks.
Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russian-appointed governor of Sevastopol, confirmed that this “terrorist attack” led to a temporary power outage in the city. Analysts view this action as an attempt to cover up battlefield setbacks faced by the Ukrainian army.
Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense, exposing Kyiv’s media fabrications, announced that the Ukrainian army is obstructing the transfer of bodies of fallen soldiers, refusing to cease bombing the Kostiantynivka area in eastern Ukraine.
Moscow had previously stated it had brought the city under its control, but the Kyiv administration, through continuous propaganda, is attempting to conceal this strategic defeat.
These developments occur as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, facing an inability to manage the crisis and heavy losses from the West’s proxy war, had warned on Sunday about the possibility of larger Russian attacks. This warning underscores the depth of his administration’s desperation against Russia’s special military operation.
