Iran Seeks to Boost Trade with Eurasian Economic Union
According to the Economic Desk of Webangah News Agency, Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash announced on Wednesday that the volume of trade between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has witnessed a significant rise. Bazrpash stated that the trade exchanges have increased by 20% compared to the previous year, signaling a strengthening economic partnership.
During a meeting in Tehran, Bazrpash underscored the importance of Iran’s strategic position and its potential to serve as a key transit hub for EAEU member states. He highlighted the recent surge in transit goods passing through Iran, indicating an upward trend in logistical cooperation.
The minister further elaborated on the ongoing efforts to streamline customs procedures and improve transportation infrastructure to facilitate smoother trade flows. He noted that agreements are being pursued to enhance connectivity and reduce transit times, benefiting both Iran and its EAEU partners.
Bazrpash also touched upon the increasing number of transit goods passing through Iran, emphasizing the country’s growing role in regional trade corridors. This trend is attributed to improved infrastructure and a more favorable business environment.
The discussions also covered the potential for increased cooperation in various sectors, including energy, agriculture, and industry, aiming to create mutually beneficial economic opportunities for all parties involved in the EAEU.
