Iran Closes Strait of Hormuz Amid Escalating US Military Actions

Iran has declared the Strait of Hormuz closed until further notice, citing ongoing U.S. military incursions and a recent incident involving commercial vessels. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy stated that the closure is a direct response to what it termed ‘American interventions’ and attempts by certain ships to transit through non-approved routes.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the conclusion of its third round of military operations against Iran. CENTCOM claims to have targeted 140 military sites within Iran.

However, reports indicate that many of the previously targeted locations were civilian fishing boats belonging to southern Iranian fishermen situated along the coast.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy issued a statement announcing the closure of the Strait of Hormuz until further notice, asserting it will remain closed as long as U.S. interventions persist. Earlier warnings had stipulated that foreign interference and the illegal designation of shipping routes in the Strait would be met with a decisive response, potentially disrupting traffic flow.

The IRGC stated that these warnings were disregarded hours prior, with several vessels, allegedly incited by foreign actors, attempting to navigate through unauthorized routes. These ships reportedly ignored warnings and directives to correct their course and proceed along approved channels.

Consequently, a vessel that allegedly endangered maritime security by disabling its systems was intercepted and halted after warning shots were fired. In response to the resulting insecurity, attributed to alleged illegal foreign interference, the Strait of Hormuz has been closed to all maritime traffic until further notice. The IRGC also warned of a severe retaliatory response and the targeting of new enemy bases in the region should the “aggressor enemy” commit further transgressions under the guise of this incident, for which they claim the U.S. is responsible.

The consequences of such interventions are held by the American-Zionist enemy and the countries that have provided their territory for enemy bases to conduct these threats.
