US Central Command Launches Third Wave of Strikes Against Iran This Week

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed launching its third set of strikes against Iran this week following an alleged attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz. The operation occurred after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reportedly targeted the MV GFS Galaxy.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed on its social media channels that American forces commenced their third round of attacks against Iran this week at 7:15 PM Eastern Time. This action, CENTCOM claims, followed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ attack on the Cyprus-flagged container ship MV GFS Galaxy, which was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

CENTCOM asserted that the vessel was rendered incapable of continuing its voyage due to an internal fire and significant damage to its engine room. The statement also alleged that one civilian crew member went missing as a result of the incident.

The U.S. military command further claimed that Iran had been given another opportunity to demonstrate its adherence to a “memorandum of understanding” after being held accountable for previous attacks on commercial shipping, but once again failed to meet this commitment. CENTCOM did not provide further details regarding the specific targets or the scope of the latest U.S. strikes.
