Kuwait Air Defense Engages New Wave of Drone Attacks Allegedly from Iran

Kuwait’s air defense systems are actively countering a new series of drone attacks attributed to Iran, prompting air raid sirens and audible explosions across the country, according to military and media reports.

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Kuwait‘s military has announced that its air defense systems are engaged in repelling a new wave of drone attacks originating from Iran. Al Jazeera, citing data from the Mehr News Agency, reported that the Kuwaiti army confirmed the activation of its defenses against the aerial threat.

Media outlets indicated that air raid sirens sounded again in Kuwait following the drone incursions, with several explosions reported. Sources also stated that American Patriot missile defense systems were deployed to counter the drone assault on Kuwait.

Details regarding any potential damage from the attacks have not yet been released. The Kuwaiti army had earlier claimed on Thursday morning that its air defense mechanisms were confronting drone attacks, which Kuwaiti officials alleged originated from Iran.

Al Arabiya network reported that the Kuwaiti army issued a statement confirming that its air defense systems were engaged in responding to drone strikes. The statement further alleged that the drones originated from Iran, and interception and counter-operations are ongoing.
