Gulf Cooperation Council Chief Criticizes Iran and Houthis, Cites Global Economic Risks

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, in reports released by Mehr News Agency, citing Al-Arabiya network, Jassem Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), asserted that Iran‘s conduct weakens international endeavors to achieve stability. He urged the United Nations Security Council to adopt a decisive stance against what he termed “Iran’s attacks.” Al-Budaiwi further claimed that “the continuation of these attacks could pose a serious risk to the global economy,” adding that Iran’s actions in the Strait of Hormuz have impacted global trade. The GCC Secretary-General also condemned what he described as “Houthi claims against Saudi Arabia,” stating that the threats from Yemen’s Ansar Allah endanger maritime traffic in the Red Sea. He concluded by calling for a firm position from the international community against Houthi threats to shipping.
