According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced on its website that it has received a report regarding an incident involving a tanker in the Red Sea. The tanker caught fire after being struck by a projectile located 70 nautical miles from the port of Ash Shuqayq, Saudi Arabia. The maritime authority has not yet released further details concerning the type of projectile, the tanker’s identity, or the extent of potential damages or casualties, stating that the matter is under investigation. This news emerges shortly after Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces, confirmed an operation by his forces targeting two Saudi oil tankers that were reportedly violating the maritime blockade of Saudi ports.
