Pakistan Denies Afghan Claims of Supporting Armed Groups in Badakhshan

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, Pakistan has unequivocally denied claims made by the interim Afghan government suggesting that Pakistani forces are providing support or collaboration with armed opposition groups operating in the province of Badakhshan. The Pakistani Ministry of Information issued a statement on social media platform ‘X’ to address and reject these assertions.

The statement emphasized that no credible evidence has been presented to substantiate these baseless allegations. It further posited that the violence in Badakhshan is not a result of foreign intervention but rather a reflection of Afghanistan’s internal security challenges and governance problems, explicitly stating that Pakistan is not involved.

Independent reports, as noted in the Pakistani statement, document the conflict in the region as an ‘all-encompassing armed struggle against the Afghan government’ and have found no evidence to indicate Pakistan’s interference.

The Pakistani government reiterated its consistent support for a peaceful and stable Afghanistan, asserting that it has no intention of destabilizing its neighboring country. This denial comes in the wake of statements by Zabiullah Mujahid, a representative of the interim Afghan government, who had reportedly claimed in an interview with Aamaj News that Pakistani officials were actively involved in the violence in Badakhshan.
